Reja Bakh, Principal design director in BAKH has been practicing architecture design since 1992. BAKH has offices in New York, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Mr. Bakh received his education  from the Graduate School of Architecture at Cornell University / MIT. He has a distinguished career with 23 years of experience in Architecture and Design, as he worked for some of the worlds most  renowned design firms. Before joining Gensler as a Design Principal for the Shanghai Office in which he oversaw the company’s movement in Asia, he worked in New York with Richard Meier Architects and Gwathemy Siegel Architects. Mr. Bakh has developed a strong and diverse international portfolio in the United States, Italy, Germany and China in residential, hospitality, mixed-use and campus design. The project sizes range from small-scale product design to a 6,000,000 Square Foot headquarter campus for one of China’s top 10 largest companies.

Mr. Bakh’s unique design has reached its international position because it combines and distils two main stream principles in 20th century design. On one hand stands the idealistic European Bauhaus tradition, with its minimalist “Less is More,” and its modernist “Form follows Function” philosophy. On the other hand lies the consumer-oriented MAYA principle: “Most Advanced Yet Acceptable.”

Mr. Bakh’s achievement in the history of design is his creation of an ultra-modern minimalist form language with extraordinary consumer appeal. B y maintaining that “Form follows Feelings” he brings curiosity and excitement. Of his design, Mr. Bakh says: It must create a connection between the architecture and the user. Not an engineering “man-machine” relation, but a “person to person” communication through Architecture and space.
